ESMDPSW2000 4-20mA micro differential pressure sensor for Industrial process control
Working Principle
The differential pressure transmitter uses imported pressure chips, and the sensitive element forms resistors through processes such as diffusion or ion implantation, which are connected into a Wheatstone bridge. Using micromachining technology, a pressure-sensitive diaphragm is formed beneath the bridge. When pressure is applied to the diaphragm, the resistance value changes, generating a linear output signal proportional to the applied pressure. By applying a DC power supply to the Wheatstone bridge, a DC voltage output signal is produced. After secondary conversion circuitry, a two-wire 4-20mA output is achieved.

application scenarios
1. HVAC & Building Automation (HVAC & BMS)
This is the most widespread application area for differential pressure transmitters, mainly used to ensure indoor air quality and energy-efficient operation:
Filter blockage monitoring: Installed on both sides of primary, medium, and high-efficiency filters to monitor pressure difference in real-time. When dust accumulation causes the pressure difference to exceed the set threshold, an alarm is automatically triggered, indicating filter replacement to prevent airflow reduction or fan overload.
Fan status monitoring: By measuring the pressure difference at the fan inlet and outlet, it can determine whether the fan is operating normally (e.g., if the belt is broken or the motor is malfunctioning), achieving fault interlock protection.
Variable Air Volume (VAV) system: Measures static pressure in the supply duct and feeds it back to the frequency converter to adjust fan speed, maintaining constant duct pressure, providing air as needed, and significantly reducing energy consumption.
Cleanroom pressure control: In hospital operating rooms, biological laboratories, and electronics cleanrooms, it accurately measures the slight pressure difference between rooms and corridors or adjacent rooms, ensuring airflow from clean areas to non-clean areas, preventing cross-contamination.
2. Industrial Process Control
In complex industrial production environments, differential pressure transmitters are used to optimize combustion efficiency and ensure equipment safety:
Boiler combustion control: Measures furnace negative pressure, primary/secondary air pressure, and flue resistance. Precise negative pressure control prevents flame ejection or cold air intake, optimizes combustion efficiency, and reduces pollutant emissions.
Pneumatic conveying system: Monitors pressure changes in powder or material transport pipelines to determine whether materials are blocked, leaking, or if the transport flow is stable, commonly used in scenarios such as ash removal in power plants and raw material transport in cement plants.
Ventilation and exhaust systems: Monitors wind pressure in ventilation shafts and exhaust ducts in tunnels, underground utility corridors, or large factories and controls fan start-stop operations, ensuring effective smoke extraction in emergencies such as fires.
3. Environmental Monitoring & Meteorological Stations
Wind speed and direction conversion: Works with Pitot tubes or anemometers to convert dynamic pressure signals into wind speed data, used in meteorological observation stations and wind farm environmental monitoring.
Building wind load monitoring: Monitors surface wind pressure distribution on super high-rise buildings or large bridges to assess structural safety.
4. Special Industry Applications
Medical equipment: Used in ventilators and anesthesia machines to monitor airway pressure, ensuring patient respiratory safety.
Agricultural greenhouses: Monitors internal greenhouse air pressure and controls ventilation windows to regulate temperature and humidity conditions.
