Working Principle
The core component of a gear flow meter is a pair or multiple pairs of intermeshing gears installed in a fluid-filled measuring chamber. When the fluid enters the measuring chamber, it drives the gears to rotate. Each rotation of the gears transfers a fixed volume of fluid from the inlet to the outlet. By recording the number of gear rotations with sensors (such as magnetic or photoelectric sensors) and combining this with the fixed displacement, the total flow and instantaneous flow can be calculated.
