ESMPE19 photoelectric liquid level sensor for water heaters, coffee machines, and dishwashers

Photoelectric liquid level switches are non-contact or near-contact sensors that use optical principles (the difference in refractive index of infrared light at the air-liquid interface) to detect the liquid level. Due to their lack of mechanical moving parts, fast response, high accuracy, small size, and insensitivity to the color, density, and pressure of the liquid, they have been widely used in various fields, from household appliances to high-end industrial equipment.

    Working Principle

The photoelectric liquid level switch uses infrared detection, utilizing the principles of light refraction and reflection. Light will undergo reflection or refraction at the interface between two different media. When the liquid being measured is at a high level, a boundary is formed between the liquid and the photoelectric switch. When the liquid is at a low level, a boundary is formed between the air and the photoelectric switch. These two types of boundaries result in different intensities of reflected light received by the photoreceptor inside the switch, corresponding to two different switch states.

    Product Features

    1. Fully optical structure, no float, no micro-movement, no jamming, extremely long lifespan
    2. Fast response, millisecond-level sensing, high accuracy
    3. Compact size, integrated sealing, waterproof and dustproof, resistant to acid, alkali, and corrosion
    4. Resistant to foam interference, accurately detects the true water level
    5. Optional high pressure and high temperature resistance, suitable for high-pressure, sealed tanks

     application scenarios

    1. Coffee machine/Water dispenser: Monitors the water tank level; automatically alarms or stops operation when water is lacking to prevent damage from dry heating; stops water intake when full.
    2. Robot vacuum/Floor washing machine: Monitors the liquid levels of the clean water tank and the dirty water tank. Alerts to add water when the clean water tank is low, automatically stops suction and prompts cleaning when the dirty water tank is full, preventing overflow that could damage the motor.
    3. Humidifier/Aroma diffuser: Automatically powers off when there is no water to ensure safe use.
    4. Electric steamer/Clothes steamer: Monitors water storage to prevent dry burning, which could cause fire hazards.
    5. Washing machine/Dishwasher: Some high-end models use it to precisely control the amount of detergent dispensed or to assist with drainage detection.
