High quality ESMWYS-S Draw-wire displacement transducer sensor with 100-2500mm
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Inside the sensor, there is a stretchable stainless steel cable wound around a threaded hub, which is connected to a precision rotary sensor. When the cable is attached to a moving object and moves with it, the cable stretches and contracts, causing the hub to rotate. The hub then drives the rotary sensor to rotate, thereby converting the linear motion of the cable into rotational motion. The amount of rotation is converted into an electrical signal output, and by measuring the output signal, the displacement, direction, or speed of the moving object can be determined.

Usage and Maintenance Precautions
1. Cable Pull Angle: The direction in which the cable is pulled should be as parallel as possible to the sensor axis. A large lateral angle (generally recommended to be <3°-5°) can increase friction, affect accuracy, or even cause jamming. A universal joint or guide wheel can be used to correct the angle.
2. Avoid Impact: Although it has some shock resistance, severe impacts or instant cable pulling at excessive speed (exceeding the maximum allowable speed) may damage internal gears or encoders.
3. Regular Calibration: After long-term use, it is recommended to check the zero position and full-scale accuracy. Particularly, potentiometer-type sensors may experience wear and drift.
4. Prevent Corrosion: In corrosive environments, it is necessary to choose models with stainless steel housings or special anti-corrosion treatments.
