K-Type Armored Probe Thermocouple for 304 Stainless Steel

The probe-type armored thermocouple is a solid, flexible temperature measurement element made by drawing together the thermoelectrode, high-purity magnesium oxide insulation material, and metal protective tube. Its core advantages are its small diameter (as fine as 1mm), extremely fast response speed (millisecond level), and resistance to high pressure and vibration. The probe is rigid and needle-shaped, allowing it to be directly inserted or inserted into narrow spaces, fluid pipes, and solid materials for precise measurement. It is widely used in injection molding machine barrels, engine testing, laboratory equipment, and food processing. Length, material (such as 304/316L), and wiring methods can be customized according to needs, making it an ideal choice for rapid and accurate temperature measurement under complex working conditions.

    Working Principle

The K-type thermocouple is based on the Seebeck effect, which states that when the junctions of two different metals are at different temperatures, a potential difference will be generated between them. A K-type thermocouple consists of a nickel-chromium alloy (positive) and a nickel-aluminum alloy (negative). When there is a temperature difference between the hot and cold junctions, a thermoelectric voltage is generated in the circuit, and the temperature can be inferred by measuring this voltage difference.

    Product Features

    1. Fine probe structure, small size, suitable for measuring temperature in small holes, interlayers, and narrow spaces.
    2. Ultra-fast response, thin-walled armored, sensitive to temperature, quick readings.
    3. Can bend freely, flexible armored, easy to route, not easily broken.
    4. High temperature and oxidation resistant, 0–1200℃, suitable for high-temperature conditions.
    5. Shock and pressure resistant, good stability, magnesium oxide insulation, accurate without drift.
    6. Various tip options: pointed, bare, grounded, ungrounded.
    7. Flexible installation: handheld, fixed, probe insertion, or surface detection can all be used.

     application scenarios

    1. Plastic and Rubber Machinery (Most Typical Applications)
Injection Molding Machine/Extruder Barrel: The probe can be directly screwed or inserted into the barrel's temperature measurement hole, penetrating deep into the molten plastic to monitor the melt temperature in real time. Its slender probe ensures that the sensing point is located at the center of the flow channel, avoiding interference from the barrel wall temperature.
Mold Temperature Monitoring: Inserted into the mold's cooling channels or heating holes to monitor mold temperature distribution.

    2. Food and Pharmaceutical Industry
Core Temperature Measurement: Used in meat processing, baking, sterilization kettles, and other scenarios. The probe can be directly inserted into the food (such as large cuts of meat, dough, or the center of canned food) to measure the core temperature, ensuring thorough sterilization or proper cooking, in compliance with hygiene standards (usually made with 316L stainless steel).
Fermentation Tanks/Reaction Vessels: Inserted into liquid culture media or medicinal liquids to monitor temperature changes during the reaction process.

    3. Laboratory and Scientific Testing
Material Testing: Inserted into soil, concrete, powders, gels, or semi-solid materials to measure internal temperature distribution.
Environmental Simulation Chambers: Used as a standard temperature probe in constant temperature and humidity chambers or ovens to verify temperature uniformity inside the chamber.
Battery Testing: Inserted into gaps in battery packs or attached to the battery cell surface (with spring devices) to monitor temperature rise during charging and discharging.

    4. Energy and Power Engineering
Engine/Turbine Testing: Inserted into intake/exhaust ducts or lubrication oil lines to monitor gas or liquid temperatures. Its anti-vibration performance makes it suitable for high-vibration environments.
Pipeline Fluid Temperature Measurement: For small-diameter pipelines, the probe can be inserted through the pipe wall into the fluid center, providing more accurate readings than external sensors.

    5. Other Special Scenarios
Warehousing and Logistics: Inserted into grain piles or inside packaged goods to monitor storage temperature to prevent mold or spoilage.
3D Printing: Inserted near the print nozzle or heated bed to precisely control printing temperature.
Medical Sterilization: Used to verify the temperature distribution inside high-pressure steam sterilizers.
